The success of Wind Energy Science relies heavily on the many volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to ensure the high scientific standards for which our journal is recognized worldwide. To honour the work of our referees, we have established the "Dries Allaerts Outstanding Reviewer Award".
Starting with the 2026 edition, the award is named after Dries Allaerts, a brilliant Assistant Professor of wind energy at TU Delft, who passed away too early yet left a profound mark on our community. Among his many accomplishments, he was an exceptional reviewer and one of the first recipients of the WES Outstanding Reviewer Award.
